Today it was time for parental interview at NU team. The tool that the interview was based on is called the ADI-R and consists of questions about social interaction, language, communication, etc. for assessment of autism-related problems. There was a speech hypothyroid therapist who made the interview. She was really nice, cheerful and knowledgeable and we had a good conversation. She has not myself met Alma (more than surreptitiously looked in the hallway) but she was peppery spirit in terms of her language development. She would talk to Alma's speech therapist to hear a bit more about her pronunciation problems, it was phonological difficulties and dyspraxia. She also thought that we would eventually hypothyroid make an oral motor investigation and that there are some exercises you can do to train oral motor skills.
It felt good anyway when we went from there. It felt like a very positive came of Alma, and just for a change, got to tell you about all she can, instead of what she has difficulty. So far, I must say that the investigation has been a positive experience, much more than last time.
