The hope is that other dogs can be trained to identify much faster than it is by the current evidence, preventing potentially fatal infection outbreaks in these settings.

Early detection can prevent infection in hospitals and other care facilities, but current tests can last from two days to a week to confirm infection, Bomers said.
She says the idea for the study came from the observation that in patients with diarrhea of C. diff infections had a particular smell that she and her colleagues could sometimes detect.
He correctly identified Clostridium difficile in 25 of 30 infected patients. He also did not identify any infection in 265 of 270 uninfected patients.

Despite his skepticism, Hirsch says research definitely worth despite this confirmation of infection as has been reduced from a few days to a few hours in many hospitals, including yours.
"A big question for me is," What can you do and amazing sensory apparatus to detect a dog? '"He says." There are studies that suggest that they can smell some cancers. We do not know what else can be trained to sniff. growth chart "
